Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of CKD Hub (ckd-hub.com), the online platform for the accredited continuing medical education (CME) activity “Empagliflozin Value Journey in CKD”. The activity is organised and funded by Boehringer Ingelheim. By signing in and continuing to use the platform, you accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

1. Who may use the platform

The platform is intended for healthcare professionals only. Access is by invitation: only email addresses registered by a Boehringer Ingelheim representative or the programme administrator can sign in. By using the platform you confirm that you are a healthcare professional and that the email address you sign in with is your own.

2. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your registered email address; no password is used. Your account is personal and may not be shared or transferred. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for activity carried out through your sign-in. If you believe someone else has used your account, tell the Boehringer Ingelheim representative who invited you straight away. Access may be suspended or withdrawn if these Terms are breached.

3. Educational purpose

The content is provided for medical education and to support informed clinical decision-making. It does not replace your own professional judgement and is not medical advice for any individual patient. Always refer to the locally approved prescribing information before prescribing any medicine.

4. Participation and CME certification

To complete the activity you must watch each module in full and answer the knowledge checks that appear within the modules. Playback cannot be skipped ahead of the point you have reached, and pauses when you leave the page. The platform records your progress, viewing activity and answers so that completion can be verified.

Eligibility for a certificate is calculated automatically from this record. Certificates are released by the programme administrator once eligibility is confirmed, and each certificate carries an ID that can be verified on the platform. Any attempt to bypass or interfere with progress tracking — for example by automating playback or altering data sent from your browser — may result in loss of eligibility.

5. Intellectual property

All content on the platform, including videos, animations, text, graphics, logos and trademarks, is owned by or licensed to Boehringer Ingelheim. You may view it for your own educational use only. You may not download, record, copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or publicly display any part of it without prior written permission from Boehringer Ingelheim.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to share your access or sign-in codes with anyone; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or to other users’ data; interfere with the security or operation of the platform; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

7. Reporting adverse events

If you become aware of an adverse event related to a Boehringer Ingelheim product, please report it to Boehringer Ingelheim’s responsible Pharmacovigilance unit using the contact details shown at the foot of this page.

8. Personal data

Personal data collected through the platform is processed as described in the Privacy Policy, linked at the foot of every page.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time; the version published on this page is the one that applies.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Boehringer Ingelheim is not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the platform, or from reliance on its content.
